This session will introduce you to the principles of garden design - one of the units which is featured on the  course starting in late January 2025.

You'll learn how to use and combine shape in the garden to create different garden styles. You will also be introduced to colour theory, and how plants can be combined to create beautiful borders.

Have some paper, a pencil and ruler to hand to join in with some simple drawing activities whilst applying garden design principles!

About the Lecturer

The workshop will be delivered by our in house Garden Designer and Chelsea Flower Show medal winner Amber Crowley who is our Curriculum Lead for Horticulture. Amber will use examples of her own design work to show you how she applies the principles you will be practicing in this session in her own designs, which includes Kilmartin Castle gardens  which was featured in Homes and Gardens Magazine this year.
